The title certainly gets my attention as I loved those guys and miss them so much. Only got to see them once back in the 1960s in Los Angeles at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium in a double bill with Dave Brubeck. Not something to forget!
You've certainly got the vibe of Joe's keys in Mercy Mercy Mercy. Well done! +1

As you might imagine Julian had the "gift of the gab" and a personality to match. Their recordings did them justice so hearing those is more than OK. Thanks for the reminder of those fine musicians.

Very cool!!!! I saw him in concert in NYC. Yes, he was one of our "Masters". I marvel how he adapted to playing with Coltrane and Miles compared to his more funky side leading his own groups and playing with his brother!!!! This is is Wonderful tribute in the vibe of "Mercy, Mercy, Mercy" written by Joe Zawinul but made popular by Cannonball!!!!! I was surprised he gave up being a school teacher, and the rest is history!!!!!!
