Like ants in a hurry.
They scurry up the paved mound,
Toward tall hives dotted with fluorescent light.
Some sort of purpose drives them forward,
Headlights beam large like round yellow eyes,
Flooding the freeway ahead
Looking for their way
For some meaning
Where are they going?
What are they doing?
Pushing toward something
But getting nowhere
