Just a neat acoustic thing (sort of) that I thought others might have lots to offer on...vox? keys? guitars? Anything kinda goes here I think :)

The actual version of this is more of a fingerstyle acoustic thing, but my daughter kept coming up and yelling "Hellllloooo" into the mic. Had to plug it in using the Acoustic pickup on the Ultra III lololol

you don't really NEED to name them all ... you have to leave some freedom for the buddies musicians and put their ears to work ;)

needless to say that playing the exact same chords a second time would be plain useless ?

I use this sometimes, to name chords http://jguitar.com/chordname Its still subjective though lol. Plus a bass player or keys can come along and change it all

it gets way more complicated if you overdub DIFFERENT chords over the top of suspended chords, such as http://www.wikiloops.com/backingtrack-jam-24531.php the naming gets ridiculous.
It might look like this:
writing song-->18 minutes
recording and mixing-->2 hours
naming chords--> 3 hours +3

The nice thing about these chords like add9 and sus4 is that they are open, less defining the harmony and thus leaving much freedom to the improvisor.
For example Dadd9 is just another A-minor with a D and a F# below. That's why an A Blues scale can do most of it - if you add just some other notes as spices (and that's the magic part). +1

You hit it on the head Lutz and is why I absolutely love these types of chords when writing pieces like this :) This is the kind of "theory" I wish I had understood better when I was younger :)
