Back against a tree in a quiet meadow dozing off in the sunlight..... Actual BPM 97.3.

More active than ambient with the limited scope almost like a drone. I like it... download! +1

PaulM44 Wow, can’t wait to hear what you do—needs a strong lead. +1

Wade Very sorry about the "I can't wait" part. I'm notoriously slow. Fast for me is two months, average might be two years before a track comes back. +1

PaulM44 It only happens spontaneously when the feeling is right--no rush. +1

Wade Not quite like that. I download lots. It then may sit for months before being recorded with a bunch of tracks that are all done in one sitting. I don't usually know who the tracks are from... it's just a track number. After recording they may sit for months to years before being edited. Some get edited (eventually), then go into a file with a few hundred others waiting to be posted, which may also take months to years. None of it has to do with inspiration as I felt inspired by everything downloaded. Just my reality as I like letting them "mature". If it's any good, it will also be good when it reappears. Having it show up in a rush with a lot of other tracks just doesn't appeal. The number of recorded and edited tracks is getting quite large, but that's also my legacy/library that can continue when I'm no longer able to play, or deceased. Releasing one or two tracks a week (as I'm doing now) means there's a few year's worth!

A different reality.

PaulM44 Thanks for that synopsis. Yours is a whole different mindset for sure. I listen to a work and have a feeling about it and what I want to do on it and pursue that until it is satisfied and put it on--one at a time. IF I used your method I would feel like I have a nagging backlog to work on and it would lose its appeal. Plus I believe there is a frisson short-term in the prior remixers that I like to share in. Quality-wise, your method is better but I'm more concerned about getting immediate feelings in before lost.... +1

Wade Because tracks have only been heard once, downloaded and stored, it's fresh when I hear it again some months later. Since downloads are in a big group, there's a process of comparison in deciding which ones are liked the most. The narrowing down continues when editing as there are lots where my playing just isn't worth editing. The playing takes minutes (I'm strictly a jammer and don't work anything out). The editing can take 15 minutes up to 90 minutes to get the sound, levels and mix right. I love the playing and hate the editing. By giving everything time it's like the difference between infatuation with a piece of music compared to having a real love for it. Just my quirk. +2
