time to do a little record keeping :)
Its been a busy month on the loops :
Besides fixing various smaller issues, most concerning the facebook log in again and adapting the open-graph images (the pics shown when you share a track somewhere else),
there was a quite bustling discussion going on, involving a group of trusted members, with whom I had the honor to brainstorm on the future development of wikiloops. Getting a lot of feedback on my ideas, I feel set to go ahead and add some improvements and continue on my quest on how to fund this project in the long run.
As part of the funding rally, we set up a partnership with ticketmonster.com, a company selling Concert & sports tickets. Wikiloops will get a little refund for any tickets purchased via the links on wikiloops, lets see if this is something people will do...
Then again, we spontaneously decided to organize the 1st official wikiloops member meeting which is going to take place in germany, pretty close to where I currently live from may 29th to june 1st.
I had planned something like this for the end of the summer, but since our friend wade from Australia is visiting Europe, things just took a roll and here we go with the first wiki-meet.
I have spent the last week working on three video tutorials of five minutes each, mostly animated screenshots and text, one explaining the concept of wikiloops, one the members features and one the remix process. It was a fun thing to do, although I really battled with my untrained english pronounciation. Dave confirmed he could understand what I was saying, so I guess I did ok. Funnyly, the youtube transcript automatism (a thing doing speech-to-text) noted "week of hopes", when I had said "wikiloops" :)
You will find the videos in the help section, while part I is also featured on the wikiloops startpage when logged out.
stats of the day:
12.443 users registerred,
15.922 tracks online
