The past weeks flew by, mostly occupied by organizing, celebrating and documenting the wiki-meet in Urft. The links to the photo-gallery (had to code that, btw) and the video snippets are available in the forum and currently featured in the site-news on the newsfeeds, so they should be easy to stumble upon.
I could propably fill a few pages with praise on the wiki-meeting, the good spirit, excellent music and fun we had - you'll get a picture by checking out the doku material I believe. To be there and remind myself that this is actually happening because I had this crazy idea a few years ago was an experience thats hard to describe... my sincere thanks to all who supported along the way.
So, after hauwling a lot of musical gear and cutting video and audio recordings for about a week, now its time to get back to coding tasks :)
As mentioned in my last post, one major project is the translation of the interface - the video tutorial on how-to-do-it was finished shortly before the wiki-meet, and I have been contacting people around the globe to get it started... still looking for some extra support there!
Besides that, doing backups has kept me busy for two days, the number of monthly tracks shared on wikiloops is increasing so much lately, backing up one months contributions takes half a day of downloading now.
Since I have been working for wikiloops as a full - time volonteer at no pay for six months now, generating funds for the project will be one of the main topics to take care of in the time coming... Don't be affraid, theres nothing fun-spoiling to come, but to ensure the future of this project we will have to face the fact that it needs constant attention and care-taking, which is hard if not impossible to do in the long run without any budget.
Next to me, theres a hand-written sheet full of notes on what to improve, which features to implement and which messy parts to clean up... I'll keep you updated on my thinking process, and as always, feel free to share your ideas or give feedback!
todays stats:
