Good news - the last week was spent finishing off the upgraded single-track attachment handling that will be part of the 6.4 update and with setting up the option to use wikiloops ad-free by becoming a supporting member.
There will be a newsletter announcement going out shortly letting you know about what is going to come in detail, and I'm pretty sure you will like what you will see :)
As one big step in development, I undertook the task to move the new version from my local server to the wikiloops server and see what happens once its online in a "real" web scenario and accessing the live database of the "old" wikiloops you are looking at.
This puts me in the situation that I can see things work in a live context, while it has the downside that any action taken on the beta version does affect all live domains - a faulty upload from the test version will show up and throw error messages on the live interface, so everything needs to be handled carefully and with a lot of attention.
Good thing is that finally some more people than just me n Baer are able to look at the progress, and OliVBee and me have been testing stuff for two days now - and of course there are the expected one thousand small issues that still need to be dealt with until everything works regardless of your browser choice, screen width and 37 other options that impact the way wikiloops is delivered.
It is a long process, but patience is something I have learned to be crucial here. Looking at the dev blog, I have been coding full time for about two months now, and I see about four weeks minimum work to come... but we'll get there.
