For those worried by may last post, let me update you a little today.
The mentioned copyright infringement issue has been solved without any major harm, so rest at ease. To make a long and time intensive story short, it ended with about 500 tracks getting removed from wikiloops, one member leaving the community for good and me writing about 65 lenghty emails to communicate the issue with all involved. That was not that much fun as you may imagine, so my one gained insight from this is: Only because users have to set a checkbox stating they are aware of something, there does not seem to be any guarantee that they have any idea what they are doing.
Just in case you did not notice - this is not YouTube here, and you will find the information that you may not upload cover versions of copyrighted tracks all over the place. In case you choose to ignore that, be aware that wikiloops will not fight costly lawsuits to protect you. *sigh* Seems really hard to understand.
Just because Google can do it, it doesnt mean a single dude can do the same, ok?
As you may imagine, that was quite an annoying drawback in the development work, taking a lot of time. Now, the good news is, after that had been settled I have been moving back into the code and been making some progress. While the french and spanish interfaces are still being worked on, I am entering into the final phase of cleaning up the code and looking into speed issues after a first work-over of the mobile page.
I have updated the [url=http://www.dev.wikiloops.com]http://www.dev.wikiloops.com[/url] test-domain another time yesterday, so if anyone feels like taking a preview, go ahead :)
