some updates:
the green jamroom has been reworked entirely, adding the mentioned select-boxes to view uploads and remixes attached to theese. Still missing a message in case one has set too many filters to get a result, but works fine. Same concept was applied to the tracklist in the profile page.
Then, after a day of code research, the player now has a detection for non flash-devices and offers a quicktime plugin to theese visitors - semms to work on the iPhone family now, as RobH reproted in last night. Loooots of work in there, glad few users notice the changed player.
Been spending three nights on the development of a user created XML-playlist - had to understand how to create files by php first, the option to move a track up and down in a playlist took a whole evening of try and error research... now still missing a ways of saving a playlist and starting a new one, and I want to create a special player-skin for that, too. So still two or three more days on the code until this feature will be open for beta testing.
What else? Found some more need of work in the meta-info, that should be improved, especially on the loopsearch pages... its a bit hard to code automated meta-info on the sites content when the content changes with parameters (like a selected style, tempo etc), I'll have to look into that once more.
The profile has been changed a bit again, did it while marking the site up with <h>-tags.
Changed all displayed lists to the <li>-standard, which will improve screen reader users experience and allows linking a whole block of pics and text. All done for the benefit of better browser compatibility and search results... got some more knowledge on html basiscs that way, too...man, I'm such a code caveman, really.
What else is in mind:
- finish playlist development task
- auto sitemap creation
- uppercase instruments in english version...
speed issues: I wanna do some often used sql-request in predefined functions, that will shorten the overall code needed. Same goal: Creating an array containing all instruments, saves questing the database each time a instrument name is needed... same goal: making sure database requests are aided by proper indexing (like looking only within active musicians when looking for a musicians name) - that will prolly speed things up, since now all 1213 users have to be looked thru to get a users name. Need to keep theese issues clean, otherwise the site will slow down with every new member / session shared...
still lots of work in this, trying to keep it up...
