Drum Templates...

There's always a demand for drums here, it appears. Everyone seems to want more of them! We seem to be the fundamental which everyone seems to wait for. So...
My question is simple but likely far harder to answer: what do you guys want?
I struggle with templates, despite understanding the need, because I have no idea what to play! Most drums consist, to me, of 'basic time' and, apart from the odd moment of inspiration or ideas, I have no idea what's desired. I'd rather play what you folks want. Give me tempo and a feel and I'll try and do something.
It's hard, in truth, to do them because the templates I've done I've played 'in my head' based on a reference track. It's so hard with no reference music and most have been due to suggestions from others.
So tell me what you want, what track you'd like and I'll do my utmost to deliver it. Bear in mind I'm not Steve Gadd/Vinnie Colaiuta/Dave Weckl/Carter Beauford/Mike Portnoy!
Of course, just ignore me and I'll keep posting whatever ideas I have. But they're few and far between!

For me anything classic rock style or blues will do I enjoy all you have posted so far keep them coming

Donnersm: Done! I'll see what I can come up with but I did a Kansas shuffle for one of Rickplayer's templates [url=http://www.wikiloops.com/backingtrack-jam-38254.php]here[/url]
Unfortunately, I didn't do an HD upload so I'll dig the recording up from my archive drive and send you a link to it.
goldtop68: Boo. You would pick a half-time shuffle! A nemesis of mine! I've already done a template similar in feel to what you want, although it's more a funk beat than a reggae style. Your considered approach (making difficult things sound effortless) reminds me of Mr Harrison a bit.
On another note, I've really liked your rudiment based themes like "linear drumming" and "on the diddle"

OK...I'm the odd guy again! I'd love to hear something original rather than a copy of a known pop style. Odd rhythms fascinate, from the easier 5/4, 7/4, to the more exotic that are less rounded but allow for incredible accents in what seem like odd places: 11/4, 13/4, 17/4 poly-rhythms, etc. It's understandable that many want to play covers and "in the style of", but what's special about this place is when new and fresh ideas emerge. The pop world (to me) is mostly about people chasing successful formulas and seldom being very original. No doubt there is plenty of talent there, just not much demand for originality. Why bring that sort of ethic here?

I know im sticking my neck out a bit since for some reason many self thought musicians are sceptical to theoretical concepts, but the idea is worth considering.

Anything that stimulates creativity is good in my opinion. Some of the best original music I've played with Gerhard (guitarist partner and member here) were inspired by some books he had on African rhythms. These were not copied so much as used as starting points and made our own. There may not be anything in the music world that isn't in some way copied, yet there are infinite variations possible and ways to make what's played your own.

It would be nice for people to use (or request as mpointon has pointed out) drum track templates. I have a bunch as well in my playlist section. I dont mean to complain but I cringe whenever I hear a song using a drum machine...now for some situations they work fine, but otherwise....

It would be interesting what lyrics writers have to say about this.
When i use a drum template it would be for any one of the following reasons
1) I like the overall feel
2) It coarsely fits an idea i have that can be adapted to the template
(And sometimes you are lucky and find something that fits perfectly like [url=http://www.wikiloops.com/backingtrack-jam-9954.php] #9954[/url], I wrote most of the guitar part when i was 16 or so and didn't had to change a beat...)
Of course drum templates can be edited to fit some structure but i think most people won't bother to do that. In case of editing i certainly helps if the template is recorded with click (sorry Mr.Adam)

Hello guys! How to find a human drum loop? Actually I need urgently a 6/8-track with a 20 bar arrangement. 5 verses plus 1 bar outro plus push on the last 1.
Tempo is 58 DOTTED quarters or 58x3 eights per minute. Some machine would count 87 bpm in the display. I use the metronom with dotted quarters when I play a song like "House of the rising sun".
Do you know a drum template which matches these criteria?

That would allow for a much greater degree of freedom and making the template more (re-)usable. On the other hand it might get less inspirational
