Sounds good to me! Thanks!

No Detroit for me though it sounds ideal setup wise.

I'm about 45 miles north of Detroit in a quiet little township so Detroit is not where this would be set up. So if anyone is interested in this let me know and I'll try to get something together.

I'll add that Detroit is a 6 hour drive for me. NO big deal. I've driven to WOodstock Virginia from Syracuse in one shot. Same difference. I then drove to Worcester mass from WOodstock Virginia. Quite a haul too!
I could easily do this. Amazing where people can go if they would only drive more than 3 hours!

Thirty-eight hour drive for me. Sorry, can't do it. It's cool. I hope others can; should be fun!

Gotta see who's out near the west coast. Regional is the way to go!

Sounds good. What is the town? Maybe starting to get too far away for members like Toad? ( Todd )

First of all, thanks to slimdaver for recalling what we discussed last year :)
For now, all I'd like to state is that I have no intention to claim any franchise rights on wikiloops meetings :) I am open towards any kind of meetings, and can offer both experience and some wikiloopish stuff for the outfit, I do believe keeping it small is the way to go.
It wuld indeed be possible to host a bigger & official meeting somewhere in the states by using the already mentioned well equipped professional practise locations, rent a lot of gear and pay huge sums for a hotel or something alike - but we'd be looking at cost of around 400 USD for a weekend per person if we did that (I did I rough calculation for some nashville venues last year) - plus any travel expenses, and that seemed a little too costly to me.
Urft is a different thing, because we have no gear rental cost and youth hostel accomodation pricing, still, don't underestimate the amount of work and money needed.
All I'd like to add to your plans is: Please, do share some of your pictures, experience reports or whatever else with us here via the forum, it is indeed inspiring to see people getting together because of wikiloops, so a little documentation of any events (similar to what rickplayer did) would seem nice :)
I'd also advise to plan such meetings mid-termed, so anyone travelling or lanning to travel has some ahead time to plan, if then you'd love to have some international folks show up as well :)

Thanks Dick for adding to this post it always helps when you add because you have the experience putting one of these meetings together. As I had posted was I can get a small hall to set up an open jam session for the wikiloopers that would like to attend. Also I can possibly get equipment like Drum set PA and maybe Amps. I have many connections in my area and will do some research on this and coordinate with you on my progress to see if this would be possible to do. I think it would be fun to get together with as many loopers as we can. So at this point I will start the process to put this together. As you probably know if done in Michigan weather is a factor for travelers so time of year is a concern. But lets see what I can do.

I am interested in a North American Wikiloops get together if I can fit it into my schedule. Rick thank you for stepping up to offer to organize this. Do you have a date or date range in mind?
