Well mpointon, cupboards filled with books are said to be pretty good absorbers/diffusers for sound, so that's a good thing! :)

And directly above my Mac are a bunch of 7" reel-to-reels! The room is my, unfortunately now deceased, father's music room. There's LPs, 78s, reel-to-reels, cassettes, etc., spanning 50 or more years. He was an electronic music nut in the '70s and '80s.

This is the most used and important part of my set-up!:). A Boss BR1200 Digital Recording Studio!. Basically its "Abbey Road Studio" in a portable easy to use console.....I really love it a lot! :D

It's actually a bigger mixer than my Mackie Onyx!..162 virtual tracks per song I think!...never tried it out!:D. I bounce the track from the Loops onto this baby!...select a Guitar effect and jam away!

Finally got my speakers, Alesis amp and Celestion bass enhancement speaker retrieved from my former home! B) This is my mixing rig. At last - no more mixing on headphones! :)

It does mean, of course, I can't excuse the fact my drums still sound awful!

And I've finally tidied the room I record in. It's sadly well away from where I mix so I have to unplug everything each time I need to mixdown which, given the internal battery has gone on my firewire interface, means I have to use a Windows laptop just to reset it to use the phantom power XLR connectors as it doesn't remember. The OSX version of the interface software doesn't work with Yosemite!

It means I have to record in 'bulk' and then take it all away to to mix.
