Really tight drums that follow every accent perfectly. But you need to work on your mastering, as very quiet, which ain't good for this genre :)

Yeah,it's pretty primitive how I've done it. I recorded the recording from my Boss to a sd card on my Tascam. It's lost a lot of level on the way. Thanks for the kudos 😊

The drum sound is great, just the levels. If you can, grab Audacity - http://www.audacityteam.org/ - and use the Normalize function on the .wav - see http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/amplify_and_normalize.html

hate to say it but normalizing is a very touchy subject ... as the "normalize" function will also boost any undesirable sound like hiss and white or pink noise ... i would in no way do that on a stem track but it would probably work decently on the mix like you suggested :)

True, best thing to do is record at highest level possible without clipping (and use a compressor to get rid of transients), but on a loud track noise is less of an issue :)

my usual process is about the opposite ... i normally record single tracks somewhere between -12 and -5db ... the final listening level is a whole different slice of pizza ...

Yeah, true, you want to leave some headroom on individual tracks. Main thing is not to be too quiet you get noise and too loud you can't mix.
