I did this on the cheap. Used the Glyn John's method with 4 mics. 2 $25 large condensor mics. One overhead, One side fill just above floor tom aiming across to snare. Kick mic, and sm57 clone mic on snare. PDP 5 piece CX maple kit. Behringer 4 input audio interface and Reaper DAW

Thank you. It was fun and a new experience for me. I am very happy how well my drums recorded with such a cheep recording setup. Well tuned drums is key. Mic placement very important.
