er... volume should not be related to the type of monitor / headphones you use (you can turn any speaker up and down in volume, that doesn't depend on the size or kind of speaker). What you need to look at is the volume meter of your mixing software: If there is little volume displayed and your headphones are really loud already, then you need to turn down the headphone amplifier. Just try to make sure the volume meter of your mixing software is almost toching the "full level" in the loud parts.
There is a tutorial on compression I wrote some time ago in the tips and tutorials forum, you might want to have a look at that, too, if you like :) +0

Thanks Dick! What I wanted to mean is that the volume on the mix in my headphones was good and well balanced...maybe when you listen to it through some small speakers could seem lower? I will try it and let you know. Actually the bass line is compressed end equalized, with a enhance on the frequencies around 20Hz and 50Hz because I really love the warmth of that effect. The HPF cuts only under 10Hz in my setting...you never want to hear the rumble of my stomach!! :D

I just look at the volume meter and the waveform, so the type of speakers I'm using is not really relevant :)
The mixed volume of the mix seems a little low, it only goes slightly above 50% of the meter, that's what I'm talking about :)
Doesn't really matter much, I just wanted to give a hint at that.
Doing frequency enhancements below the 50Hz mark is cool with me, but one should keep in mind that that will not be audible on any type of audio system which doesn't include a subwoofer. It really does depend on the type of audience you are mixing for, but in nowadays world I try to keep in mind smartphones and small earbuds are a common listening scenario, and one (with a tear in the eye) shoudn't expect such low frequencies in such environments. +1
