MrAdamOnDrums asked me to play with this track and I'm so glad he did! As soon as I heard it, I wanted to sing to it. Here are the first results - I've added only a lead vocal but I think there is room for backup vocals and maybe a jazz flute here and there to give some counterbalance to the deep tones of my voice on this. Really fun!

you are in THE pocket, woman!
Your scent glistens me
And leaves me raw
Your warmth just inches away
Help me thaw
WOOOOHOOOOO! now that's good writing!

Lyrics: It’s Love

Do you know what I’ve been thinking?
Do you know what I have seen?
Something like a small tornado
Spinnin’ us around and ‘round and ‘round…/

It’s love, it’s love, my friend
So cool, and so damned sweet
It’s love, it’s love, my darling
Come here and love with me/

Oh…
Do you know what I’ve been feeling?
Do you know what I have seen?
Do you share the way I’m reeling?
Do you have any idea?/

It’s love, it’s love, my friend
It’s cool, and so damned sweet
It’s love, it’s love, my darling
Come here and love with me/

You won’t my first
You won’t be last
But you can come here now
And end this fast
This fast we’ve been on
since the day we met
This fast that we haven’t
Ended yet/

Your eyes enter me
Leaving their spores
Your mind thrlls me
As our minds soar/

Your scent glistens me
And leaves me raw
Your warmth just inches away
Help me thaw/ 11/27/2013 by Carla JP

Excellent job for the vocals and words, just need some mixing in my opinion, more music gain and check if monitoring makes delay flams because not using head phones while singing... you did WOW vocals and words... maybe some people here could help for mixing from what you did already, dealing with the flaming, sooo good feel! +0

cool track ! nice mood :) i'd say too much rev so far and to achieve a proper mix you'll need each separate track ;) +0

Great vocal job.. but Adam and Oliv are right! The reverb/mix has taken over the whole track!! +0

Thanks for the comments - I guess you guys just don't like the direction I took - I added the reverb to make it sound like the music and vocals were all made at the same time in the same (outdoor) place - like an island beach or something. And, btw, I did sing with headphones on! lol And, as for separate tracks, every remix would benefit from totally separate, dry tracks - that's the reason I could mix Goodbye to the Blues better - I got separate tracks from everyone who could provide them to me. ;)

Maybe I'll put up a version without the reverb so you can hear how dead it sounded. I tried that first. ;) My voice is huge (one of my teachers used to say, here comes Carla, no need for microphones!) so I usually bring up the music a LOT. There are 6 tracks of the music in this and only one stereo track of me. The gain is as far up as it can be on the music without it going into the red. (!)
