I'm a tone scanner like you !! We both learn together, the tone used here by you I love and we are always thinking that in the next jam we will make the perfect tone !! Haha
In the end it is a matter of personal tastes and satisfaction. With the experience I realize that the tone has an infinity of ingredients: technical characteristics of the bass, microphones, strings, wood, fretboard, EQ bass, EQ preamplifier .... give hundreds of different sounds; and of course .... fingers and creativity !!!
PS why I decided to write the technical part in my jams, so we can all exchange experiences ....:) +1
