Yes JD abosorbed that whole early 50's -early 60s and He's made songs that are straight from that period yet they are new!!!!

Nick Lowe lyrics are somewhat reminiscent of Roger Miller in their humous approach to life....He made a great album in around 78 -- It was Called "The Jesus of Cool" and he wrote several songs for Elvis Costello, who is one of my favs
