I remember when I felt so alive
Back in the summer of 1985
she was a sweet little thing
with long blonde hair she had everything
I picked her up in my red chevy Nova
she got on in and she scooted on over
turned up the song on the radio
she looked on over said baby let's go
the night was young
we didn't have time to waste

my heart was thumping out loud
as we headed to the powerlines on High Rock Road
underneath the sky that night
the stars were sparkling what a sight
I held her close and I held her tight
two teenage lovers it felt so right

feels like yesterday where did it go

I headed to college that following day
