I sit here on the porch and sing a blues with a good friend
waiting for my woman to come back home with a bottle of rum
but it seems like
she doesn't come back home today.

I may not have been so good to her lately
has been low down and drunk too much again
cause it seems like
she doesn't love me anymore.

Life has given us too many up and down trips
too much fuzz and fighting between us every day
and now it seems like
that my woman has left me for good.

Well what can a poor man do when he is sad and blue
he can sit and sing his sad blues with a good friend
cause it seems like
life is not a dance on roses for me.
