Sorry I missed this earlier on. You're doing just fine...a lot better them me! I found that it "buzzed" my lips so badly I couldn't play sax for an hour afterward. Such a wonderful soulful instrument.

Thank you Wade! You wrote, that you own a tourist duduk. Maybe thats a great difference. I payed 200 Euro for the duduk an 50 Euro for the reed.

It's my dream to eventually go to Iran with a side trip to Armenia. I think I'll wait until then to be around the real players and the instruments they make. I bought the two I have in Turkey. They mostly seemed to be the same there, so I guess just tourist stuff. I think the reed may be the big difference. 50 Euro seems like an exorbitant amount for a reed! I used to make my own oboe reeds which are very delicate and difficult. Even when you buy them they aren't nearly that expensive.
