And nothing is left,
Except for the vast empty space,
where once we belonged.

Someday, explorers from Galaxies unknown,
Will stumble upon this space, and feel the force.
The force of our being.
The force of history.
The overwhelming karma, of nations who once
traded their future for pleasure and greed,
For senseless ambition and misdirected need.

Someday, they'll shake their heads in disbelief.
They'll feel the pain of our grief.
How foolish we were to think
we were exempt from nature's laws.

Someday, a brand new nation will be born.
A better. wiser, educated nation.
More caring.
And they'll take up this space.

And Someday,
The earth we destroyed.
This planet of beauty.
The space generations once enjoyed,
The gift given to them at birth.
The precious prize we foolishly threw away.
Will be born, where once we belonged.
