Nineteen Seventy Five, was the year I came alive
It was teenage chicks and kicks, through Nineteen Seventy Six
Nineteen Seventy Seven, I almost made it to heaven
Then by some twist of fate, I survived Nineteen Seventy Eight

Then it all went sideways. and the music lost its power
But I was there for some of some of Punk Rock music's finest hours
And I do miss the time when we were young, skinny men
And I still hope to Jesus we'll see Punk Rock rise again

Then the Eighties came, and the music got so lame
And the people lost their way, day by dope stoned day
Now it's forty years and more, since my first record store
For pennies my life got sold, and now I'm too bleeding old

But I still love themusic, that kick ass raucous power
And I recall the memory, of some of Punk Rock's finest hours
And I do miss the time when we were young, skinny men
And I still hope to Jesus we'll see Punk Rock rise again
