An excellent sound choice (bass clarinet?). In combination with the flute, fits great +0

Was only a matte of time before you two found each other musically. Great combo with the bass clarinet sound working very well.
Just a note: soon listens and comments from me are going to be more scarce as my busy work time of the year kicks in.

Bradford Well, your generosity will persist in my memory. Hoping we will still hear your playing here. +1

Wade The playing and posting is easy. I have something like eighty tracks recorded and ready to post anytime. I only post around two a week as sax has a limited appeal. This site is 90+% about guitars, Bass, keys drums and vocals. No point in posting if nobody listens...so the tracks pile up. +0

Wade Said like a true horn player. You've got a good gig with your wind controller as you can play many different instruments. I'm old and stuck...too late to become acceptably decent on any other instrument. +0

Wade OK, maybe you don't when hearing others. I need it from myself and don't like the idea of asking others to listen to something (from me) that's not worth listening to. +0

Wade Still just a reality here. I did a little experiment a few years ago and posted one track a day. They were at the time some of my best work. They got few plays or notice. Believe me sax is a sideline instrument which doesn't attract much attention. No point in sharing tracks that nobody listens to. My pile up is OK. I'm kind of old (75) with things like arthritis coming on and other issues. Life is limited. When I'm no longer able to play I'll still have tracks to post for a year or two. Seems like an OK thing from my perspective. There are a few players here (most much younger than me) who have had physical problems that prevents them from playing. They occasionally post stuff from their (much earlier) past. It's likely that they would prefer to have had more recent work to post. You've been smart in taking up an instrument that allows you to continue. You're gaining some followers since it's obvious you're a fine experienced player. Hopefully that will build. If you look around you'll find that there are other players of "marginal instruments" who are good players but post a lot of tracks and don't get many listens. The solution for me was in limiting the posts. Plenty of listens and I'm building up a longer term resource.

I can only hope that those players who post a good piece and only have a few listens are OK. My (unfortunate?) attitude is why bother recording and posting if nobody wants to listen?

Most players here don't have time to sit and listen to hours a day worth of other people's music. So they are going to be choosing carefully what they listen to. The vast majority are in that guitar, drum, bass, keys and vocals group. That's also what interests them the most to hear. Just the way it is.

Bradford Well, I think you rock and I respect we're you're coming from. You bring good cheer to this here gathering and I'm sure I'm not alone in wishing you the best life experience possible and if that includes sharing your stuff or not, or at a particular frequency does not matter. To share with others, to interact musically, regardless of where they are on the planet is so very awesome and I cherish each and every one of those interactions regardless if I join in or not. My life experience is one bit better for having interacted with you, period. Tomorrow is tomorrow.

Since 2013 I've been involved with now 4 different online musical collab groups. Been a great addition to my life. All types of people, all types of talent and experience. I just want to play and join in sometimes and these sites do it for me. Sure, listener feedback shoots me some dopamine or whatever chemical but the actual noise making is probably the greatest aspect. And my muse tends to be triggered more by hearing other people's stuff than starting from scratch on a song. Anyhow, we all have different motivations I suppose and when it comes to art, I believe acceptance and open mindedness is a gateway.

Wade You're right on with enjoying the interaction and playing along. I do a ridiculous amount of "playing along" with other's tracks. Being just a jammer means easily playing 15 tracks in one sitting. There's around 150 unedited tracks and hundreds not yet recorded. My dance card is well and truly full for a lifetime (well my lifetime anyway). There's a lot of pleasure in just playing, but not in overloading those who've chosen to "follow" me with too many tracks. With each post it's like an "ask". Just not in me to ask that much. So that's just the way it works for me.

I've also worked in the visual arts but am not able to do that kind of work any longer. In any of the arts (for me) there's an aspect of the work being a type of communication...something that's shared or given. Having no potential recipient makes it a moot effort at best.

Which other sites have you used. I've done a few tracks on Kompoz, but find it a difficult format. I'm not interested in live time stuff as the quality and latency make it an undesirable experience. This site is easy with heaps of choices, so I haven't "strayed" too far.

Cheers!

Bradford Started on Kompoz for a few years. Funny enough they're rolling out version 3 and the promo piece on the main page has me as one of the contributors (sax emulation, lol).

Then I did some beta testing with the Songtree platform. Stayed with it for many years, won a few remix contests. Last year I went to Bandlab and came here recently.

Wade Yea, I got notice of the changes at Kompoz but haven't checked it out yet. Couldn't be worse! I found navigating and picking up tracks to be anything but intuitive. Rather baroque...or was it rococo? +0
