Her hands,

And picking children up from school,

Now they crawl
In slow motion,
Pacing with
The endless hours of the day.

Someday these hands will stop,
And the room will be quiet.

No fluttering alarms,
The ticking of the time,
Hands no longer
Alert with information,

Only the silence
Of many memories.
Of seconds and hours gone by.
