My English is poor, so I had to translate the lyrics first to make sure my rising emotions to the music and singing didn't match the lyrics - I thought!

It would not have been necessary. My emotion is only more justified after the translation.

Mein englisch ist schlecht, so musste ich den Text erst übersetzen um mich zu vergewissern, dass meine aufkommenden Emotionen zu der Musik und dem Gesang nicht zu dem Text passen - dachte ich!
