Cool, I just learned where Suriname is--I thought in Indonesia!! So how this guy be getting Island kinda sound from there? Whoa, man is short miles from Barbados--I've been there. No wonder, practically a local. :Y

Suriname is a bit like an Island. Quite isolated. No bridges to the neighbor countries or almost impenetrable jungle.

Yes, it looks very sparsely inhabited, except for Paramaribo area. I can’t imagine electricity or Internet elsewhere.

:D 600.000 inhabitants for the whole country. Half of that in Paramaribo. The coast area is inhabited and some very small villages in the jungle. No roads, The only way to go there is by river or by small plane. Life is quite different here compared to the Western world.

Absolutely different indeed! Long Beach has 450,000 and is nearly seamless with Los Angeles and Orange Counties with 12.8 million and roads instead of trees. We assimilate and it can work either way. :)
