Yes that does surprise me, but maybe it shouldn't. You are doing some very creative stuff and those who do the "standard" sort of sax training (mostly) don't seem able to think or play much outside of their 1950s-60s style.

I'm not at all restricted to any style. The traditional stuff based on Jazz standards and other mainstream styles can be conveniant though in times when I have less energy for real creations.
