My castle
built with the strength of the tide…
in it, I will reside away
from the stronger elements,
as carefully I hide
from the waves that tug at my feet

Pulling the softer kernels first
and then so many more,
the greedy foam
pounds on the door,

Let me in let me in
it says,
I want the entire shore.

As I try to hide
inside its hidden chambers,
it\'s only a matter of time
before the water has its way.

The waves yanking down the walls,
pulling up the planks,
and hauling them out to sea.

What\'s to become of me?

And so I hide,
bracing for the worst;
the elements finally find me,
and pull me under,
my castle flattened at last.
