Honey Bees are very hard=working insects, everybody knows that. Nature is cruel, everybody knows that also. But did you know that nature is particularly cruel to the hard-working honey bee?

An amorous male bee can spy an attractive lady bee, sidle up to her & whisper sweet words in her ear, only to discover that he's covered in sticky stuff and she's actually a plant!

I put a couple of pictures of bee orchids on my profile page, just as a warning to other bees.


I saw you swaying in the breeze Beneath the big acacia tree
Your form was lovely to behold Though if one day the truth be told
I thought it funny that you stayed The other girls would fly away
I loved your hairy arms and legs But at your age could only guess

I am a honey bee You are an orchid
You look like a honey bee Its really kind of sordid
You say its evolutionary Baby, that’s a lie
I thought the Great Queen in the sky,who tells us "if you sting, you die"
Would have something else to say Bout orchids acting up this way

It’s not easy being a bee, your individuality
Can be subsumed into the hive, how do you know if you’re alive?
And the last thing that you need is some jumped up little weed
Making pretty in the sun, all a bee wants is some fun

I was buzzing round minding my own business I saw you swaying
with a certain
stillness well, I’m a bee of the world
I know you’re not like other girls You don't just fly away from me
I thought you loved me I'm confused I feel exploited and abused
I thought "here's nothing I could lose"I got excited

Of all the guys back in the hive I thought I was the luckiest bee alive
A million cousins will be warned They won’t be falling for your charms
