Why don't you make September a musical month to remember!
Use the wiki diary to talk about your music memories... gigs, shows, people you knew or played with.
Write a September song. Post a September song.
Tell us what you like about September! Did anything memorable happen for you?

A little memory for you with words from the lovely Shi :)

It's September already. I had a little September song uploaded but I wasn't happy with it, so today I will work on it again. There's also a little song I called "Me time, silly" I spent ages trying to make a serious ballad but after much frustration I got mad with it and made a version that was quite stupid... it's like tipping the board over when you are losing a game.
Hey you can post anything here, doesn't have to be music related although that would be nice.
Here's my Diary song, it's easy with great musicians backing you :) [wl]323687[/wl]

Another quick add here.
Because I rise so early, I often find what's called "Wind down TV" They play very slow, simple ambient music as you watch moving scenes from nature. It's often a coastal scene as the camera glides above the waves, beaches and hills. But I really like the wildlife footage. Yesterday it focused on Swans, ducks, geese etc. If you watch the simple monotomy of their existence it makes you think. They stand around cleaning and preening themselves, they take a swim, they fly away and return, they snuggle up to a mate and then they sleep while also being aware of possible dangers - now isn't that just like me and you!

I started thinking about the music I listen to. Today I made a song for Wikiloops, which many consider dark. I personally find peace of mind in it and hear just regular rock music.
Maybe that's why I don't like pop music. If darkness and loud guitars are my normal level, then light music doesn't have much to offer.
Well, that isn't entirely true, as I also listen to lighter music. I even might listen to 90s eurodance tekno when I’ve had a few beers. At that time, I don’t feel like listening to heavy music.
Well, tomorrow I would happily play anything. Tomorrow is the day when I finally get to play in a band. I have to admit I'm a bit nervous. Maybe I’ll drink a cup of rosehip tea and watch House on Netflix. I don't always feel like being an angry hard rock/heavy metal guy.

Here's a cool track that captured the mood of September by four great wikiloopers in 2022

Tuesday 2nd September.
I did a vocal for lyrics I wrote about riding a bike but I stole the first line "Riding along on my pushbike Honey" I couldn't remember who sung it or where I heard it but Google (or maybe AI) reminded me. It was the Mungo Jerry version I know and very much like "In the Summertime" I used to ride a pushbike every day and went on long journeys.... not like these softies who use batteries to get up hills (Joking)

I don't find many songs at wikiloops that tell stories, especially true narrative lyrics.
I mention this because I just found a song I wrote about a local girl of noble birth who was famous for becoming Queen of England for just 9 days, Lady Jane Grey.
It's a sad story, she was one of many decendents of royalty and chosen to be the rightful heir. There was a Protestant v Catholic battle and Jane's supporters abandoned her - as a result she was beheaded in 1553.
Her former home still stands in ruins and it's said that on her death many trees in the park were also 'beheaded' Bradgate Park is a place I know well, there used to be peacocks in the grounds but mostly it is home to herds of deer. Picture shows deer in front of the ruined home of Lady Jane Grey, Queen for 9 days.

If any wikiloopers can direct me to any wl uploads that contain historical stories I'd be interested to hear them.

I finally played with a band for the first time. I loved it!
It was an amazing feeling to hear the sound of my bass with real drums and guitars. I was shy about going to a band class, now I can't wait for next week's class.
I was so excited that I forgot to take a picture. Maybe next week I'll remember.

Thanks Mr Bluvation, that's the perfect example, well presented.
I found another one of mine that would qualify about Toulouse Lautrec so I uploaded it here today.

Friday 5th September.
The new uploads seem a little slower arriving this week. Nice to see new members coming in with remixes. I notice a lot of newbies often search way back for a template to use, so it's good to be reminded of wikiloopers from the past - some templates go right back to the very start of this site.
Today I felt like uploading some Latin rhythm music, however, I'm never sure how to identify the actual style - Samba, Rumba, Cha cha, tango or whatever. Out of all the genres I find Latin always makes me want to move some part of my body.
As far as listening goes, I always enjoy a waltz-time rhythm. When I'm feeling the need to explode, it has to be Rock. Jazz is great for late night listening. Country is good for lyrics. I rarely listen to Rap but I quite like to Rap myself. Then there's experimental, that is so interesting, it's like modern art in your ears. When Classical uploads pop up I'm always impressed and I particularly love a good piano piece with a stringed (or blown) instument supporting. Enough about me and my likes especially as I have very few dislikes :)

Shamika.
The importance of those useless or ephemeral things that one likes or may want to do, which rationally serve no purpose, and yet are precious, precisely because they serve no purpose ?

Today is our Bella's anniversary, it's exactly two years since she moved in with us, so I wrote a bit about that on my blog at https://wolfgang.lonien.de/2025/09/two-years-of-bella/ - and *my* topic for today would be cats.
Here are some jazzy and bluesy tunes which deal with kittens:

Wow Lazyprune, talk about an intellectual challenge :o Here goes :-
You may not see a point to my trivial pursuits,
But to me they have a deep intrinsic worth.
The joy is in the doing and the doing may bear fruits,
For I can take an idea seed and plant it in the earth.
Then every day I water it and sit beside its bed.
No-one understands my motivation.
In a world where everybody wants to get ahead,
The great reward for me is in creation.
I'll throw a pebble 'cross a lake and count the jumps it makes,
I don't need to give reasons, I need no validation
I'll kick a ball against a wall, regardless of the time it takes.
The great reward for me is in creation.
It's not the goal, the win or lose, there's no justification.
The pleasure is ephemeral, the thrill is taking part
There's nothing that is useless when the joy is in creation
The castles that I build stay in my heart
I made a simple youtube so you can hear the lyrics and I used wolfgangs bass (trivial) speeded up as backing. It's an unlisted video by the way.

I love your creation Shamika. The text is very successful, the intention is the right one.
I particularly like your sentence "It's not the goal, the win or lose, there's no justification.
The pleasure is ephemeral, the thrill is taking part
There's nothing that is useless when the joy is in creation
The castles that I build stay in my heart". 👌 <3
