There once was a coder on drums
who craved for some musical hums.
As he wrote lots of code
at some point he did note
all that code was a bag full of bums.

parental advisory / disclaimer :
In difference to its author, the character and situation described in above poem is totally fictional.
I just noticed this one actually also works if you replace each "ums" with "ugs", that is of course sheer coincident :D

Here's one for the harpists:

That Blueshund plays his harp night and day,
But really I think that's okay.
Well, some think he's hot,
And some think he's not,
He don't care. He just plays anyway.
(And he drinks lots of beer, by the way.)

I started my limerick on Sunday
It took me clear into Monday
To write the next line
But it didn't even rhyme
So I gave up and had me a Sundae :)

Hahaha this thread is getting better and better, I got to say this:

Triple gold sticker awarded here for Mr. Snuts: 1 for the flow, 1 for the "two-Limericks-in-one" /Ugs replacemnt trick - brilliant!! And one for getting off the drums to write this Limerick ;)

Bluesdog, I am so happy you are infected with the Limerick bug - this is for life man. You will thank me one day (I think) :D :D

Bluevation: Very cool wordplay, Limericks about Limericks are classic :)

I will have to sit down and do another one, but it will be hard to keep up with the excellent standard! Woohoo!!

Don't forget the kazoo players. No offense to the sax players, though.

He tried the saxophone, too,
That Blueshund. He could not see it through.
He sounded like hell,
So he just said: "Oh well,
I'll just get myself a kazoo. That'll do."

It sounds to me someone here thinks that playing the Kazoo is easy. In one sentence you offended millions, if not billions of dedicated Kazoo players and their craft ;)

I found the other day a 40 year old cassette recording of me and my mate playing guitars, and when the solo part came I gave it all on the Kazoo. I tell you, it sounds terrible. Horrible :D :D :D I hope nobody else listens to that ever!!

hello everyone, I use this sight to get backing tracks for my social media posts - and I always put the credits however I am interested in using a track for an official release of mine which would involve some royalty talk, how would I go about getting in touch with the people on the track and does anyone know the basic rules in place for using a track from here as a release for a verified artist

You're absolutely right, TeeGee. If all the millions of closet kazoo players in the world came out and confessed, the world might be a better place, or, it might just be louder . Is that what you want ? Something to think about....But don't let that thinking get in the way of you writing more limericks, as it would certainly make the world a better place without making it louder.

... why didgeridoo ?

Getting bored with his tiny kazoo,
He then bought a didgeridoo.
Wow, that was much stronger,
Both bigger and longer,
And the ladies, well, they liked it, too.

Lol nice one BD

Yes I tried playing a Didgeridoo, I did manage to get a few squeeky sounds off, that thing was too much for me. The one I tried was a 100 year old Bloodwood instrument. I have had the amazing experience of sharing a flat in Sidney for a few months with Alan Dargin R.I.P., a virtuoso player and funny guy, and he showed me how. In guitar terms that was like being in the same room with a rock star, this guy could PLAY! Circular breathing for 20 minutes, he was a beast. Have a look here:

Yeah, he's amazing. a real pro. I have been playing the didge for about 2 years, learning from street musicians and youtube tutorials, think I've mastered the circular breathing now, but no way could I do it for 20 minutes. A lot more practice is required; and I believe it helps playing a wind instrument before starting on the didge. Stamina is the thing. Right ? Keep it up TeeGee.
