I'm very interested in going, driving from Cardiff along M4 and through the Channel Tunnel. We've only got one car and the missus will be really pissed off if I load it up with guitars and take it to Germany for 5 days. So, I'll probably hire something. Anyone interested in sharing costs/driving?

Well, I made my mind at last. It took time to put in the balance wisdom and pleasure, then to wonder if choosing pleasure would not be wiser than choosing wisdom, but still that guilty feeling standing behind... I couldn't take a decision for weeks !
I finally did.
I'm coming ! :D
Thanks Dick ;)

I'm very much looking forward to seeing you all.

And one more thing: I'm living at stone throw distance to Frankfurt airport (7km or so) - so for whomever coming in via that gateway, I could offer some kind of pickup, transport, & accommodation service as well... Just drop me a note so that I can adjust my work schedule.

I just bought a small ampli. A Roland mobile cube. It will fit in my luggage. Not perfect but but it will be able to help if there is a lack of equipment.

Here it is:

Very kind of you to offer. I'm flying into Frankfurt, but immediately taking the train from the airport as that's the fastest way to Steinfeld and I'm booked into the monastery for the day I arrive. Hopefully that doesn't disappoint, but it's so kind of yo to offer. I'll be in bad shape from 12 hour time difference jet lag, so not the best of company for a few days. I will be around from the Monday though, so hopefully almost human by the time everyone else arrives.

Sounds good, Wade! Enjoy these three extra days, I envy you ;) See you there, and looking forward to it!

Oh, and to the question what we'll bring: well I have only my fretless Squier, so I'll bring that. No amplifier for it yet, because all I do is recording so far...

But what I *can* and *will* bring are my cameras - photography is just another hobby of mine. Hoping to catch some nice images or maybe even short movies from our sessions as well, which I'll give to Richard then.

Cheers,
Wolfgang

Hey Wolfgang!

Dick turned me on to your post.

I fly into Frankfurt Airport on Thursday August 30th and land at 6.40am. If this fits in with a schedule for you to drive to Steinfeld, it would be great to travel there with you rather than taking the train. Let me know if this can work for you?

Cheers for now,

Brian :)

Hey Brian,

that sounds about perfect! Just tell me the gate, and I'll pick you up there. We still should get some breakfast at Steinfeld then.

Edit: just saw that you'll be coming in from KL, Malaysia? That's cool, I will find your flight, and the correct gate where you'll be exiting. Oh, and I know the place - my wife is a Malay. ;)

Cheers,
Wolfgang

Excellent! My flight is EY1 on Etihad from (I think) Abu Dhabi, arrives Frankfurt 06.40. Will try and find out the gate for you. Do let me know if you and Mrs Wolfgang would like anything brought over from Malaysia. See what I can do ;) Much appreciate your help! :D

I will find that out as well Brian, don't worry. Looking forward to meeting you there.

Oh nothing much, just some 100 plus, some root beer (for root beer float), Malaysian coffee is also very nice, oh and Durian of course. Plus my wife's whole family, that's about it ;) Naaah thanks man; we're good ;)

Wade, I think most airlines going to/from Malaysia forbid them. Too many complaints maybe ;)

Tu,

if you mean live video streaming via Youtube, yes that would be nice. But I think you need:

a) some kind of special agreement with Google/Youtube to be able to do that, and
b) a camera which doesn't switch off video capture after 30 minutes - most cameras sold in the EU do just that because of some weird tax regulations. Don't know tho if Richard or someone else has a plain & simple webcam which could do just that...

Cheers,
Wolfgang
