The Johnny Hepbir Trio/Quartet is excellent. Especially if their singer Sara Oschlag joins in. Just listen to her vocals on "Take the A Train":

Enjoyed listening to Adrian Sherwood talking about working with Horace Andy on his latest album. Check out part 2 and part 3 as well, while you're there.

Currently I am immersing myself in the incredible career of Martin Taylor. From his beginnings with Stéphane Grappelli to the present day. Some albums where he is exceptional like "the colonel and the governor 2015" in collaboration with Tommy Emmanuel. His album "Solo in 2001" as well as the album "train pour Hauteville" etc... A great gentleman.

Brand X Live - Octubre 2016 - NYC
The band that got me into Fusion and playing outside the box. Featuring Percy Jones on bass and the late great John Goodsall on guitar. Have been getting back into their music and loving it.

I just got turned on to this little sometimes super group.
The whole song is fantastic but the part that gave me chills was the break at 2:19 with the keys played solo and then Mike Slamer comes in with the coolest re-entry I've ever heard at 2:26. I LOVE THAT!

I've always loved this Massive attack song particularly the driving bass line.

But I didn't know that it and a good deal more came from this. So modern sounding looking back. The whole album is killer!

Lee Sklar is one of the most recorded bass players ever, he must have played on more tracks than our Ernie :D See the list at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leland_Sklar - and he can still do it:
