Yesterday I was thinking about that special relationship between an upright bass and the human voice again, I had written about it before, so I listened to a full album which had a very good bass player. Wrote about it in https://wolfgang.lonien.de/2022/04/a-lesson-in-how-to-accompany-a-singer/ - and here's the album I heard again:

Its entry on Youtube has an index about the songs in case you want to skip some - but they're all good IMO...
I've been watching 'Cowboy Bebop', first the new series with real actors, then the original animated series. Very cool, especially the full blown big band stuff, love that hard bop style a lot. But there are also very cool and different pieces. See for instance the main theme, and two others:

don't know anything about this band, i needed some video to stream via Zoom to troubleshoot some content sharing issues...this video sorta just popped up and it was quite enjoyable :)
Been on an Alan Parsons Project binge listening lately. Really like this band, even if some tunes can sound a little cheesy and/or pompous ! Just a little :D The guitar playing is what really stands out to me, love those solos by Ian Bairnson! And I like the tone of Eric Woolfson's voice, very melancholic. This is a tune from Ammonia Avenue album :
