Me and Steve Maki and Sean's brother Eddie,
All playin' at the county fair,
Stevie on squeezebox, me sawin' fiddle,
And Eddie so happy he's there,
With his Washtub bass and that grin on his face,
Just goofin' in a cowboy hat,
The girls all dancin' and smilin' right at him,
It don't get a lot better than that.
Me and Peg Harris and Sean's cousin Annie,
All Makin' out after the show,
Round at the back where buttons get looser,
Just as soon as the lamps turn low,
Eddie shows up with his face all busted,
Like he had a fight with a bat,
See, Eddie's full of passion - just not for girls...
Some people got a problem with that.
Me and Steve Maki and Sean's brother Eddie,
Drive away as fast as we can,
Eddie gets out about two miles from home,
Told him that was not a good plan,
But there ain't no point in arguing with Eddie,
'Least from where the two of us sat,
Eddie's such a beautiful wild free spirit,
We had to both agree about that.
Me and Steve Maki with Sean's mother Lacey,
Drinkin' whiskey out of a jar,
Eddie got killed that night on the highway,
Broken on the hood of a car,
Lacey says Eddie just lived life for music,
And that's where his spirit was at,
He only really smiled he played it with us,
She said that God would bless us for that.

Thank you both <3 <3! I greatly appreciate the comments.
Thing about this one is it was set in Ireland when I started it but it sort of drove its own way down to somewhere in or near Louisiana... Must have been those accordion sounds in my head.
