I started this forum post Nov 2023.Now inspired by Shamika decided to give you some info for famous Bulgarian rock bands. Some of songs will be in Bulgarian language some in English. Let start with Shturcite( "The Crickets").They were one of the most successful bands in Bulgaria during the 1970s and 1980s and still have many fans. The band broke up once in 1990, reformed in 1997,[1] and disbanded again in 2013. The group has been characterized as "Bulgaria's answer to The Beatles".[2]The group was created in 1967 in Sofia by Kiril Marichkov, Petar Tsankov (both from Bandaratsite group), Petar Gyuzelev, and Veselin Kisyov (both from Slanchevi Bratya group). Their first performance was at a students party in VITIZ (The Bulgarian School for Performing Arts), and in 1967>Some are not any more in this world but group still celebrating their anniversaries.Song which i choose is Rock in 20 century.

Bulgarian Band Ahat.

The band was created in 1986 in Sofia by students from the National Academy of Music and the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy. Their first live performance was on December 22, 1986.

In 1989 the band went to North Korea with the Bulgarian delegation to the World Youth and Student Festival, which has brought them criticism as being too close to the Communist regime.[1] The same year Ahat released their first album Pohodut (Походът, The March). It is regarded as their most successful album. The most popular songs from it are: "The Black Sheep", "Land Of Blindmen", "The Tree", "Fiery Souls", "The March". They also received their first music award and had a successful tour with Shturcite. The following year, they appeared on the compilation "21st Youth Pop Song Contest" with the song "Deviz" (Девиз, Motto).

In 1994 the band released their second album Izpod ruinite (Изпод руините, From Underneath the Ruins). The album is a compilation of the band's hits, a couple of songs recorded for compilations and 5 English-language songs recorded in 1991. Notable songs from this album are "Monologue" and the English version of "The Tree". After a period of inactivity, the band had a notable return being the opening band for the first Deep Purple concert in Bulgaria in 1998. Great thread and great idea from Krasimir. My only connection to anything regarding music in Bulgaria has been Krasimir himself and some stuff I picked up from John Lawton (ex Uriah Heep and Lucifers Friend) who produced some documentaries about the country and promoted local musicians.
