The wanderlust consumed me,
As I ate my mac and cheese,
After many days of torpor,
With my gamepad on my knees.
A voyage of discovery,
Would be my noble quest
I vowed I would explore the world,
As soon as I'd got dressed.
There weren't so many places,
That had not been sought out yet,
But I knew one no-one had found...
The source of the Internet!
I sailed across great data lakes and scaled the hills of porn,
I saw the lonely faces of the lost and the forlorn,
I beheld the herds of LOLCats sweeping out across the plain,
They did not "haz cheeseburger" and I did not ask again.
I went onward like a spider,
Through the complex threads of lies,
Inveigled by conspiracies,
Of every shape and size.
And when I reached the center,
I began to spiral down,
I saw the worst of humankind,
In Dark-Web CrazyTown.
But up above within the cloud,
Sat seven citadels,
And by the seven deadly sins,
Our business serves them well.
Envy grows on Facebook "friending" other deadly sins,
Greed flows down the Amazon and pride begat LinkedIn,
Sloth rides in an Uber while JustEat feeds gluttony,
Wrath spews forth from Twitter, Tinder's lust comes over me.
So I reached my journey's ending,
And began to understand,
The Internet is simply built,
On mortal sins of man.
As I ate my mac and cheese,
After many days of torpor,
With my gamepad on my knees.
A voyage of discovery,
Would be my noble quest
I vowed I would explore the world,
As soon as I'd got dressed.
