I think they sound different, tone wise and choice of notes, but of course there has to be some similarities as we played on the same track ;)

Yeah - I think you're a bit more constrained on a ballad - people tend to wince when you hold those flat 5s for a whole bar!

It's a little bit funny when two musicians are discusing about bassline. I love to see faces of those who try to follow an argument and I know they can't even recognize bassline in the track. Like bigger part of humanity 😦
