There's hard and there's this. Fast jazz. Tough with a capital TOUGH. I'm not even vaguely a jazz drummer - it's something you 'do' and you 'live' and I do neither. Some tracks are just way outside my skills and this is one of them but what the hell, let's give it a go.

The effort you mention is impressive for the technical part, but it is also that Luis (Tyros4) is a "galactic" musician due to his ability, I made my bass line as you say, guided by intuition rather than by the metronome.
We all know that jazz musicians are from another galaxy !!
If I changed the neck of my bass to one for left-handed, I would not touch anything !!! his work therefore becomes masterful!

Both sound really good. Hard for me to imagine trying to fit in. You are by necessity "following" when the drummer should be leading. Good sensitivity to the softer sections.
