Dear Wordle:

Thank you for making
A fool out of me
This morning,
All those consonants and vowels 
Got jumbled
Like a bad load of laundry.

Maybe I should’ve
Done a better job
Of separating
The colors from the whites,
The consonants from the vowels
To create coordinated words,
Words that could be ironed, folded
And put into neat linguistic piles.

Maybe I could've wowed my friends
With my brief intellectual fortitude,
If I had tried a little harder.

But I was lazy,
Settling for some alphabetic scramble.

I just wanted to get it done
Before my coffee got cold.

All the letters washed together
In one load,
A fifteen minute cycle
So I could have time
To write a poem,
Like this.
