Great piece of retro soul here. Took a fair few goes to record, mostly because I couldn't settle on the approach. One side of me considered the full Clyde Stubblefield approach, the other side insisted it was eligible for some classic Motown drumming. So I did a bit of both. The verse is mildy syncopated but without the intricate interplay of someone like Clyde whilst the choruses went classic double-snare Motown. Fills follow the classic Motown rolls.
