Noah and the sinking Ark

Waves rolled and tossed as the tempest was raging
Animals clung to the bars of their caging
Ripping squalls left decks awash
With excrement and noxious slosh
The sky hung moonless, no horizon
Daily dung was slowly rising
Rats skipped off when food was gone
But the Captain and crew went on
Thunder cracked and lightening flashed
The crew stood firm as the ship was lashed
Then two by two they started to feud
Their tone was threatening, language crude
Fist to fist no thought of an end
Man to woman, friend to friend
The animals broke lose and ran
Two by two they jumped and swam
The dove of peace had flown the coop
His olive branch stuck in the poop
The vessel tossed, the crew must choose,
A nautical coffin or deep ocean blues
In the midst of it all, with tempers asunder
The boat got rocked and they all went under
No lifeboats left, no land in sight
The crew had neither hope nor fight
The moral is, in desperation
"Don't rock the boat that's your only salvation"
