There’s a face
That greets me every evening,
Sometimes he’s full,
Sometimes, just a hangnail.

Shyly peeking over the hills
And at times half a pie,
Illuminating the heavens,
A beacon in the sky.

Rain or shine.
He's always there,
Someone you can count on.

Sometimes he’s
The color of custard,
Sometimes he’s as bright as snow,
His moods are ever changing,
Cloaked in an ethereal glow.

A wonderful thing
You can rely upon
Regardless of your mood,
Whether you're filled with elation,
Or have a tendency to brood.

It’s the moon,
Full-faced, and ever present,
Throwing his veil across the pond,
Whether things are going well
But especially when they've gone wrong.

Whether times are calm or rough,
A road is there to a safer harbor
Something to follow
When times are just too tough.
