GlezBass Many thanks Mätt! I've owned about 8 Marcus Miller Sire basses in various configurations (fretted and fretless) and they all sound great for their price, all have been active with Sire's powerful EQ, but in this case I used a 30" passive Sire bass like this one... and it sounds pretty good as you can hear!! In the studio you can use the passive model, but if you're going to use it to play live I recommend the ones with active EQ ;)

Mätt Thanks Mario, appreciate the detailed reply. Yes the Marcus Miller Sire basses I have had my eye on for some time are perfectly in my price range as a drummer and from what I heard playing one in a music shop it felt and sounded beautiful. I was also looking at Spector basses for live heavy metal band playing but as you said I discovered Sire's powerful EQ and active pick ups to be metal enough for me! :W

That bass with the 30" passive is absolutely stunning, a beautiful looking (and sounding) instrument. Great jam!

Oh yeah gotta add another one of these things to your collection for sure, I agree :P Z3 & Z7 why not both eventually :P +1

GlezBass For metal music with Sire EQ you will break speaker cabinets, be careful!! :D The active models have a switch to play them passive, so you have two basses in one!! +1
