Rainy Christmas

It\'s here again
Seems to get earlier every year
But all I see in rain - instead of reindeer
Anticipation coming to the boil
But all I do is shop and cook and toil
I used to love Christmas when I was 5 years old
So many surprises to have and to hold
Now many years later I\'m glad when it\'s done
I don\'t have the energy for all that jolly fun

It\'s here again
Seems to get earlier every year
But all I see in rain - instead of reindeer
The decorations go up in November
So much to plan, so much to remember
I used to love Christmas when I was very small
I just couldn\'t wait for Santa to call
So many surprises at the bottom of my bed
Now many years later I prefer to sleep instead

I\'d rather sleep through Christmas instead
