The Great Sonny Rollins excelled at developing musical ideas from a central theme. Mr Rollins is known for taking a short melodic phrase or motif and exploring it through variation, repetition, and rhythmic displacement, creating a cohesive and evolving solo. Itocpogo Thank You so very much, Patrick!!!! Rollins stopped playing a couple of years ago because of health issues. But he toured into his 80's. He gave an interview when he had to stop playing and talked about his struggles not be being able to play. You might find the following interesting.
