The passing of Humanity

I did not see humanity die, it was the death of you and I
No-one left to mourn and cry or shroud it in a tomb
I did not see humanity die, my eyes were closed as it passed by
Deaf and dumb and numb was I, locked inside my room

By accident the World was born, a great explosion, violent storm
Through fire and ice 'til life would spew from waters deep and skies of blue
No Heaven or Hell, just a single cell that multiplied and grew
No questions asked, the World was masked to innocents like me and you

I did not know the World had died essentially by suicide
Some fought and tried but with hands tied were lambs put to the slaughter
Humanity was destined to be another phase in history
that rose and fell to destiny pushed down into the water

No funeral march, memorial arch or gravestone will exist.
Emotion and morality, compassion, love and empathy
concedes to rife technology that's life's malignant cyst
