Another cool composition with Michel improvising with so much Creativity amd lyricism. I embraced the “elephant” feel because it does capture that image of the herd creating that rumbling sound as they quickly advance. Female elephants keep the herd functional and protected and is led by the oldest and most experienced female—the matriarch. Great saxophone playing, Dan!!! It’s amazing how you take us along on your journey to the gray giants. You capture the laid-back vibe of the track and add another fantastic element!!! When we were in Thailand, we visited a kind of elephant sanctuary. It’s actually a group of people who take care of former working elephants -keeping them active, healthy, and well- cared- for.
It was incredible to be so close to these wonderful, giant animals, to feed them, touch them, and scrub them down with big brushes in the really cold river (which came from the mountains). An unforgettable experience. +1
