I didn't know whether to start another month but then I thought "Why not" it's a good place to say stuff about your doings... and if you haven't had any doings it's somewhere to say what's on your mind.

Today I walked to the central park and did some 'people watching' (great for lyrical ideas) I noticed 3 different kinds of people passing - the PHONE people... the DOG people... and the PUSHCHAIR people... but the strangest was a woman pushing a dog in a pushchair whilst on the phone :D

I have quite good ears so I like to listen in on conversations - most people that passed were talking about some food they ate or some pub they'd been to. A funny one however was a Dad who asked his very small daughter why she didn't want to go on holiday to the seaside... she said "the sea is too big and wet" - I imagine she had been scared by waves at some point in her short life.

Have a happy musical May <3

Hehehe rofl the woman with the dog and the phone, what are the odds for that? Good for you for starting the May thread, I was just about going to do that 😁.

I had a busy May 1st holiday, been digging holes in the garden for some concrete blocks where a garage will be placed.

Then went out on a ride with the old BSA - was fun for abut 15 minutes then the engine died, no spark. Ignition box is done for. I had suspicions about it for some time, there were the occasional hickups, in a way I'm glad it's dead because now I know where the problem is. Nothing more frustrating than an intermediate fault...

Anyways, it's woohoo Friday that means Mrs. Gee's special pizza and movie night 😊

Tuesday May 5th

A funny thing happened on my walk today. My usual route is through a grave yard. I rarely see anyone, but today there was a young guy squatting by a headstone with his head bent and talking loudly. He sounded distressed I thought he was wiping his eye. He wouldn't have seen me, but as I got closer I heard him say phrases like "I'm really sorry,.. I didn't mean it... I'm so stupid"
It worried me a little and I started to imagine what had happened.... Did he kill this person, did he drive them to their grave by doing something bad?
Then, as I got closer I saw his face, it wasn't sad, in fact he was smiling, he looked relieved. The next thing he said (as I passed) was "Ok, if you forgive me I'll see you tonight" Oh dear, had he decided to end it all and be together with this loved one who'd passed! No of course not, I now knew he was holding a phone to his ear - he'd probably had a misunderstanding with his girlfriend or mate... but it was fine now. I'm the stupid one :|

:D that must have been worrying before seeing the phone :D

On my side not much to report, there has been a constant rain since the whole of yesterday, and I discovered that the roof drain is blocked. One of my favourite things to do is climb up a ladder and stick my hand into a mixture of foul leaves and muck and clear the gutter. NOT!

Hey friends, and I hope you're all doing fine :)

Not much to report from my side. After a bit more than one month and wearing an orthosis which is some kind of modern plaster cast (see below), my foot is healing slooowly. I *can* already step on it a bit again, but rolling the foot over the left side still hurts a bit. And what's really cumbersome are those daily heparin needles.

But I shouldn't complain - there are people who are off much worse than me :)

Yesterday our cable TV provider sent us a new set top box (well new - it runs Android TV 11 ;) :o ) - so at least I had something to do. :)

an idea popped into my head this morning while driving to work. the backstory is Shamika did a great song about her 'painted boyfriend'. what if that painting came to life? would make a great subject for vocals/lyrics...just need to find a template now to explore this :)

I hope you drive carefully when you start having ideas :)
You started me thinking about this concept... kind of a Pinochio meets Dorian Gray meets IT theme.
It's a perfect scenario for visual AI animators but I haven't heard it done with music/lyrics. However I'm fairly sure someone tried it. Many kids have 'Imaginary Friends' they talk to living in their heads.
I'm intrigued to see if your idea comes to life Nick :o

the idea was a bit whimsical, the boyfriend in the painting awakens, realizes he's alive, steps out of the painting but falls....why? the painting was incomplete, you hadn't painted the feet yet :) so it's like the perfect boyfriend but imperfect because of no feet. "I'm incomplete....I have no feet" (the rhyme) can't take you on long walks along the beach or dance with you...you'd have to carry him...that sort of whimsical:) but perfect in every other way, except no feet :o:)

Banged my head to remember what Shamikas painted boyfriend come to life reminded me of...anyone interested in the comically absurd might enjoy Only Human by Tom Holt.

Synopsis: Only Human by Tom Holt is a comedic fantasy novel where God and Jesus go on a fishing trip, leaving Heaven’s management to God’s teenage son, Kevin. Kevin messes up the cosmic computer, swapping souls between humans, machines, a Duke of Hell, and a lemming, creating chaotic consequences.

As far as I can recall, the Mona Lisa steps out of her painting.

Went on a 13k hike with Mrs. Gee. It's her birthday tomorrow, and this was her birthday wish. We hiked the Müllerthal in Luxemburg, its a cool hike with some very narrow rock canyons. I am mullered now, going to have some Italian food

Hahaha - *love* your profile pic in that Zepp App :D It shows proper exhaustion ;)

Btw your description of that hike reminds me a bit of Burg Waldeck in Hunsrück, Germany - there you can hike along a river (more creek than river), some parts have ropes to cling to, and at the end you can have "Forelle Müllerin" at some restaurant. Or - depending on the season - a "Federweißer". Very nice. And happy birthday to your missus... :) <3

Lol that picture is how I felt after running - especially at the time when I got the sports watch.

I started with exercising cardio a few years ago by using a cross trainer once a week for 20 minutes, plus some cycling. After a while I thought that I might be "fit" and ready for running outside. Oh how wrong was I...

The start of the track is a steep climb uphill next to my house, by the time I got to the top of the first climb I was wheezing, and some elderly people who were walking their dog were alarmed, they did not know if I was going to collapse or maybe I was just a deranged breather?? With a monumental effort I managed to tell them I was all right, and then continued the rest of the uphill section by walking. What goes up must come down, so I did manage to get home, it was 2.75 km, and I was shattered. Done for :D

But I kept at it, and now I can run up that hill and do 7, 8 km of hills up and down, without feeling like in the picture.

Don't get me wrong, I still HATE running or any of the cardio stuff, I think it is one of the most boring things to do - however I do like the level of fitness it gives me...

My schedule for today:

1. wait until Bella (our white female cat) is back from her early morning hunting session/walk
2. I have an appointment with one of the doctors today, it's the orthopaedist

- yes I can understand that, but since our normal doctor suggested to ask that orthopaedist about when it will be time for physiotherapy, I've read a bit about it, and the suggested things were: cardio training like cycling or rowing. I'd love to, but don't have a home trainer to cycle on screen against Pogacar ;) :D

3. Yesterday I downloaded that nice song of Andri, OKO, and Peter (with lyrics from Gwailoah) - see my comment at Peter's remix: https://www.wikiloops.com/backingtrack-jam-336540. Have it in my DAW, but didn't dare to schlepp my upright to my desk yet with my "Klumpfuß" (club foot)...

:D Lol a home bicycle or Crosstrainer can be had for free on Kleinanzeigen, there are loads of them available for free or small money in your area. Many people buy one, then after a few years when they did not use it they get rid of it. If you got the space for it, get a Crosstrainer. It's easy on the joints. Put it in front of the TV and get fit :W

I admit I had to look up these - and yes, we have one of those in front of the house. But I think it's far too soon, I'm in phase 1 described in

https://vancityphysio.com/blogs/news/calcaneal-fracture-recovery-faqs

- and one of the doctors advised me strongly not to put any weight on the heel at all. Guess that's why they recommend cycling or rowing...

Back from the orthopaedist, he said I'm making good progress already, but shouldn't become careless now. I should go on wearing that boot (and take a heparin needle each day) for another 2 weeks, then we'll see...

But thanks for the recommendation, greatly appreciated! :) :W <3

I don't know how many wikiloopers are interested in the Eurovision Song Contest!
I used to watch it every year and made my judgement on the songwriting and presentation. These past few years I have lost interest because so many sounded the same.

Tonight and Thursday are the semi finals with the final on Saturday, so out of interest I checked out the UK entry. It's an electro pop song and it had some good reviews.

The surprise was the title ... 'Eins, Zwei, Drei' they say it has more German words than the German entry (I should check that too) But I actually found myself joining in the chorus.

Hey, why not come onto the thread and tell us about your Country's entry.

Never liked the ESC but it did use to be about the songs and artists. But for the past 10 years it`s only been about the 5 minutes of fame bit. If I needed to watch that I`d demand that they all perform naked.

(Written by someone whose only masochistic inclination is to remember the ESC performance of Brotherhood of Man)
